At Mint Hill Dentistry we offer different options for our patients who are interested in sedation for their dental appointment. Our doctors and staff will help you find the best sedation option to ensure your dental visit is both relaxing and peaceful.
Different Levels of Sedation
Our office offers essentially every level of sedation possible for our patients. Here are the following options for sedation (in order of “lightest” sedation to the “strongest” sedation):
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
- Prescription medication for treatment
- Oral sedation
- IV Moderate Sedation
- IV Deep Sedation
- General Anesthesia
For the laughing gas, prescription, oral sedation, and Moderate IV sedation our dentists can provide our patients the sedation. For the Deep IV sedation or General Anesthetic, we will have an Anesthesiologist come to our office and provide the sedation.
Sedation Dentistry at Other Offices
You may be curious if other dental offices offer sedation. Most dentists do offer laughing gas and numerous offices now offer oral sedation. But few dentists offer moderate IV sedation and even fewer offer deep sedation or general anesthetics.
