The entire month of October is National Dental Hygiene month, bringing awareness to good overall oral health.
This year, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) campaign includes four components to help people maintain their oral health including: brushing teeth, flossing, mouthwash and chewing sugar-free gum.
Some general tips from the ADHA include:
- Always brush for two minutes, two times a day, every day
- Make sure flossing is a daily habit
- Use mouthwash to improve oral health
- Chewing sugar-free gum after eating can help fight tooth decay
